Gaming by the hour – week ending 5/20/2012

During the course of a typical workday day, I am pulled in so many directions that it is sometimes hard to remember which project I spent my time on, so I started tracking what I did on an hourly basis. Because I like to play multiple games over the course of a week, I carried this hourly tracking to how I game, and with gaming I am able to take screenshots (they don’t want me taking pictures at work).

Here are my weekly experiences in gaming by the hour for the week ending May 20, 2012…

Diablo – Witch Doctor – Xoma

Hour 1
– In Diablo 3, I started out with a witch doctor named Xoma. She began with the Poison Dart skill, advanced to have the Grasp of the Dead, but her favorite skill attained during the first hour of play had to be the Summoning of Zombie Dogs.

Hour 2 – Moving through the Cathedral, during hour two, Xoma learned the Firebat skill which became her go-to damage dealer.

Hour 3
– While I passed through 3 levels in this hour, the most memorable occurrence was the tragic discovery in the Cellar of the Damned where I had to kill Haedrig’s wife.

Hour 4
– I found my future companion.

Hour 5 – I took my dogs and Templar into the crypt and defeated the Skeleton King.

Eve – I spent an hour and a half in my Scimitar this week. What started as a home defense fleet turned into a roam in which I was the only logistics ship. This made for some tricky flying as I wanted to arrive late to any fights so as not to become the primary target, but I needed to arrive early enough to ensure the survival of my fleetmates.

The Secret World Beta – a few more hours in the beta has convinced me to purchase this game – the story gets more interesting as I learn more.

Diablo 3 – Wizard – Multiplayer

Hour 1 and 2
– I’m not sure if it is because it was my second time through to the Skeleton King, because I had 2 other players helping out, or because my wizard is overpowered, but I was able to finish the Skeleton King quest in under 2 hours this time around.

I also gained access and played a few hours in a beta-that-must-not-be-named…
