Time to End Goon Domination?

Things are starting to heat up in Eve as the summer gets underway.

Fun Times for All

While the big news has been the deployment of the Odyssey update and all the changes it has brought, the winds of change are once again sweeping through Eve politics. The largest alliances in the game have gone to war over changes made in Odyssey and this looks to be a fun time for all.

After taking a bit of time away from the game, I came back to see Delve under attack from NCdot. Fleets were called hourly to fight the invaders who claimed they just wanted good fights. Well, we gave them some fights as you can see.

Here I am shooting the SBU they placed in our system.

And if you look close enough, you can see my bubble in this image.

The Goons are Poor?

Now the big fight starts. The Goons have decided they are poor and need more ISK (or at least that is thier current excuse) so they are going to try to take Fountain. They may very well get it, but I think TEST is going to put up a better fight than The Mittani is used to.

The raw numbers seem to favor TEST with over 12000 members, but the Goons with 'only' 8000 have allies, and TEST seems to have been on a mission to distance itself from every alliance or coalition in the game in the last couple of months.

Will Capsuleers allow the Goons to remain dominant?

I think it will be interesting to see if the general Eve population sits on the sidelines here. The Goons have had a virtual monopoly on Technetium which allowed them to become rich and dictate prices across New Eden. With this market position, they have been able to dominate the game for years and terrorize players in all parts of space.

How many null sec wars have been started just because the Goons were bored?

How many industrials and freighters were lost because the Goons wanted to burn Jita?

How many miners have had their only means of income destroyed because the Goons wanted some fun with Hulkageddon?

If the Goons really are fighting this war because they are poor, wouldn't this be the best time to hit them hard and make them suffer the same way they've griefed so many capsuleers? Wouldn't it be nice to hit them while they are fighting an alliance that has the capability to field just as many blobs as they usually do.

While I doubt the general Eve community will act, I think this is the best opportunity for the citizens of New Eden to rise up and throw off the chains that have been imposed by the Goons. Stop them now, before they get rich again and start telling everyone how to play Eve.
