Up to 15 minutes

The second day of my journey to get into shape and I am already seeing some progress.

Day 2

  • Running 15:11 minutes = 1.16 miles
  • 2 sets of 10 push-ups and 15 second planks
  • 10 jumping-jacks, 10 cross-jacks, 10 high knee jacks

My current goal is to run 15 minutes regardless of the distance I travel. Having trained for long distance running in the past, I know that I need to start out slow, but the work will add up.

Years ago, the first run I did lasted about a minute and a half. I was down at the bay and thought I'd like to see if I could jog to a bridge and back. The bridge was maybe 200 yards away so I thought it should be easy. I barely made it to the bridge before my asthma kicked in and I started struggling. I ended up walking back to my car, but that day, I decided to work on getting better.
