A day when Gaming doesn’t seem like Gaming

The day is almost over and I have not had a chance to get any gaming in. Rather I haven't spent more than 10 consecutive minutes gaming, and the few bits of time I did get were few and far between today.

So what did I spend my few minutes playing?

World of Tanks Blitz consumed about 10 minutes this morning which is great. It is nice that a game can be a diversion that can take only a few minutes. I lost that match though. I still got XP and some money, but even a short game gave me a learning opportunity – always keep moving when not hiding behind cover. I was going to play another match during a break, but got too caught up in work.

Ingress did not take any time that I would not have just been walking around work. I went on a morning and afternoon walk and hacked a few portals. One thing I am learning in this game is that as a low level player, I really need to team up with others in my faction if I want to do much. Someone on the other faction had taken over the portal closest to my office overnight, and there was nothing I could do to his resonators – they we're level 7 and 8 while my level 2 XMPs barely scratched them.

My daily routine in Wurm Online – farming, grooming, catching a few fish, and making a meal – takes only about 5 minutes so I got that in before I even went to work this morning, as I do most days.

I guess even on days when I don't feel like I've done much gaming, I actually did play a bit.

Are there games that you play without really considering that you are playing?
