Chronicles of Vagari in Azeroth – Chapter 2

I'm still running around Red Cloud Mesa with my baby Druid. She started out the session at level 2, using only her Wrath spell and a few whacks of her trusty staff to take on the quillboar menace.

Freeing the Tauren Captives

Grull Hawkwind, who helped me attain level 2, sends me on another mission to free some brave Tauren warriors.

As I run to the cages to save them, I feel like I am taking part in a Highlander reenactment as no one is attacking me…I think the starting area aggro ranges have been reduced since I was here last. I recall having to tread lightly so as not to become overwhelmed by level 3 mobs as I was trying to level up. Now, no one attacks unless I go up and smack them with spell or staff.

Rifle Recovery and the Thorncallers

Once I free all the braves, Grull sends me off to Adana Thunderhorn for further tasks and the Rite of Courage. To do this, I need to re-acquire some rifles that were stolen by the Bristleback. She also asks that I put the hurt on a bunch of Thorncallers. I didn't know these quillboar were smart enough to cast spells, maybe their robes grant them some special ability. In any case, I gladly accept both quests and head off to find these invaders at The Thornsnarl.

It's still taking about 3 shots of my Wrath spell to take these guys out, but I am missing less now that I have gained some skill.

Level 3

As I track down the rifle thieves and Thorncallers and mercilessly slaughter them like they did the Greatmother, I reach level 3. So far, so good. These quillboar are no match for me and my advancing skills. I finish off the rest that Adana asked me to take care of, and I head back to take a break. So far, these little excursions are improving my skill quickly.
