Arriving Late to Draenor
Form the look of things, there are many people who have gotten back into Warcraft since the Warlords of Draenor launch. I am not one of them.
Thus far, I have been too anxious to jump in because I do not have a clue of what to expect. I did not play any of the beta, and I think that is part of my problem. I do not know much about what to do in this expansion. I know there is some garrison stuff and some mission stuff and some new dungeons and raids, but I am pretty clueless as to what is involved with any of them. I'm not even sure how my revamped Druid will play and what spells I'll have in this new world.
Whenever a new game or expansion comes out, I tend to be a slow starter. I want to research and perfect my assent to level cap, but that usually ends up with me delaying my play for too long, spending too much time reading about the game, and then giving up on my leveling because I feel I did something wrong. This happens with most games and results in a lot of games that sit on my hard drive or in my Steam library unfinished.
WoW was one of the few games in which I reached level cap – and I did it a couple of times (Cata and MoP). I've also kinda reached the endgame in Eve, but there really isn't much of an end to that game (right now, I want to play some Eve with my corpmates, but am hesitant since a lot of things have changed in the months I've put it on hiatus). Wurm doesn't really have an endgame, but I suppose I reached the level cap in League of Legends. I'd say I probably completed or reached endgame in maybe 1-2% of the games I play, which is not much of an achievement. How do I change that?
I guess I start with Warlords. I already reached the end of WoW in Cata and MoP, so why not with WoD? Everyone else is racing to the end. You can read all the blogs talking about how garrisons work and what spells Druids have in the expansion. You can even read about how WoW has surpassed 10 million subscribers again.
So I suppose the bottom line is that I am one of the few that haven't played WoD yet – but I plan on being one of those that reach level 100 and enjoy the endgame that Blizzard provides.
