Blaugust Day 1 – Building a Bridge to Silver

Making progress on my gamer to-do list – working on a bridge plan in Wurm and trying to advance in League of Legends.

Morning Rambles in the Afternoon

So with the first day of Blaugust, why would I expect my blogging pattern to be any different? It's not, I'm still running late and still waiting until afternoon to post an entry that I put together in the morning. It's so interesting how I can ramble on in the morning and go on and on and then I put it aside for hours upon hours until I finally pick it back up and make a blog post out of it. I suppose it's working because I keep doing it and I enjoy working on things in this fashion, but one of these days I'm going to actually start getting my posts out in the a.m. Particularly because I consider these my morning rambles.

Blaugust Day 1

Wow so the first day of Blaugust is upon us and I'm really excited to be taking this journey with over 50 fellow Blaugustians. I spent a good chunk of the morning loading up at least 30 new feeds into my Feedly RSS reader. I'm really looking forward to getting to know my fellow bloggers and those that are on this journey through Blaugust with me.

Silver…Here I Come – I Hope

To kick things off for the month I decided to go with something on my gamer to-do list I talked about the other day. I'm really making a push for silver ranking in league of legends. To ensure I continue to improve I am going to make sure I'm not losing more than two games in a row without putting the game aside. This far things seem to be working as I've only lost one out of four matches. And the only loss I took was when one person didn't show up at all and another left after five minutes when he realized we were down a teammate. 3v5 is much worse than 4v5 of course and we took the loss. I think the good part about the games that I did win was that I was able to carry those games. It's been a while but I am getting significantly higher KDA's in my games as Morgana and Zyra lately. I think I am really getting a handle on how to reduce my death count and increase the number of kills I get with each match. I rolled those games with a 4.52 KDA and I'm feeling pretty good about it. If I can keep this up, I just might make Silver.

Building a Bridge

I really want to build one of the new bridges in Wurm Online. Apparently you need 2 characters though. So I am going to pull at least one of my old toons out of mothballs from another world. My main world is Xanadu right now, but I spent quite a bit of time and energy on Release not too long ago. I maintained 2 deeds there with 3 characters. I never got real good at fighting or anything like that, but I was able to build a few houses, a bed & breakfast, and some boats. I'll have to figure out how to ferry at least one of those guys over to Xanadu – I've never crossed from one map to the other before, but I've heard it is doable in a boat…So now I have an intermediate goal – build a boat on Release and sail over to Xanadu with at least one of my characters.

    • Wurm Online is a lot of fun, but it can be a bit solitary at times. The Xanadu world is large but there are only about 400 people on it so you don’t see many other people much. I am happily building up my deed, kinda like Minecraft – chopping trees, digging dirt, mining for iron. It takes significantly longer than Minecraft though and death has a bit more of a sting.
