Defiance and Dominion to be no more
Just a quick note tonight since I haven’t been up to much in the way of gaming or anything, but I’m sad to hear that Defiance and Dominion have been cancelled by SyFy.
I have really enjoyed both shows and Defiance in particular. I felt it was pretty groundbreaking with the MMO tie in and I thought the story was interesting. I really have a soft spot for SciFi Westerns and this filled the bill. I am sad to see it go when I felt there were many more tales to spin.
Dominion was decent. I have the 2nd season on my TiVo so I may be part of the reason it is gone. I never started the 2nd season. I enjoyed the first and was looking forward to #2, but didn’t get the time…yet.
Oh well.
Defiance was good for the first couple of seasons. But the last felt a little bit of a stretch. I didn’t enjoy it as much. Didn’t want to see it go, but didn’t want more of the same lackluster stuff.
A show I had almost given up on, American Horror Story, has actually been better this season. I loved the first two seasons, but the 3rd and 4th were a let down. Glad to see season 5 picking back up where the good ones left off.
I loved the first season of American Horror Story, but then they got to focused on grossing the audience out for no purpose. The first season was cool psychological horror – and I am not a bit fan of the genre, but I really enjoyed that season. Once they started getting into gruesome for the sake of it, I thought they lost the idea of the show and I didn’t need to waste an hour of my life each week being grossed out.
