Leveling up to 2016

Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to a great 2016 and wish the same for everyone.

Try to get a level a day

I spent a lot of time in MOBAs in 2015 and while I enjoyed it, I want to spread my wings a bit and delve back into MMOs more in 2016. In doing so, I am going to try to attain a level in whatever game I am playing each day. That could take some time, but I figure I can store some up in the early levels since 1-10 usually goes pretty quickly in most games, and on weekends I can put in more effort. In working at this, I should be getting 366 levels this year, which will probably be a high point on my achievement board – though I've never tracked it before. In any case, I feel the desire to play more MMOs even though a lot of folks seem to think they are on the decline. I am excited to do this, and may try to push to get to level cap on a few of the games I play – I don't seem to reach max level often.

So to start on my journey, I am going to continue my ESO character on my PS4.

I need training wheels

I am still getting the hang of leveling and playing ESO on the PS4. My buddies and I have played a few times, but they are significantly higher level than I am – they are in the 30s, while I have yet to reach level 10, and I haven't played with any consistency. Fortunately, I am playing a sorcerer so I have a bunch of healing skills that I can use when I play with them – they both tend to go for tanky or dps classes.

Today I wanted to gain a level or two so that I could start to get closer to them in level, but every time I play solo, I seem to have to relearn what I am doing. Case in point – I didn't realize that my progress was not being recorded. I suppose there is a button to push on some menu to start the recording, but today I only got a couple of screenshots that I wasn't focused on getting.

Well… I made it up to level 9. I am pretty sure it's taking me a bit longer than it needs to since I'm trying to run through the quests I got before running with my friends. While the level 4 quests are pretty easy and they help me get used to the controls, I don't think I'm getting the XP I need to level quickly. I did make it to Lemuel 9 though, so that's my first level of 2016.
