Bronze V, Games 11-15

Games 11-15 of season 6 were a tale of the 2 dramatic sides of League.  I won 3 games where I encountered teamwork.  3 games where our team refrained from negativity.  3 games where we had no afk or intentional trolls.  The other side occurred in the 2 losses.  In one of those games I had a troll who went 1-12, diving turrets constantly and cursing at anyone who suggested he play more safe.  In the other, I had 2 players who thought the game was won by throwing insults.  Interestingly, in the 2 losses, my team only averaged 17.5 kills, compared to 47 in the 3 games we won.  Quite a dramatic difference.

I started at 73LP in Bronze V and ended heading into a promo series to advance to Bronze IV, and looking back, I feel pretty good about my play.  I’ve found that it is difficult to carry a team from support – particularly if you are dealing with players focused on negativity.  My kill participation for the wins was 34% while for losses was 46% so I was trying to get our team going, but I also find that I push a bit too hard – 1.1 KDA in losses vs 3.4 in the wins.  I’m not sure if that difference is because the other team has much more money in games where I lose, but I know that there usually is a point where I tend to start making desperate decisions to try to turn the game around or save a teammate when the game is headed downward.  I think one thing I can do to improve is to hold off on the tendency to get desperate, keep focused, and don’t try to force plays. Regardless, I am gonna start to try to focus on doing just that and we’ll see how things turn out.
