The Rest of BvS

Things really didn’t get much better till the last 30 minutes or so, and then the last 10 were kinda a waste too. I really didn’t buy the whole ‘Superman thinks he’s a god’ storyline – he’s never shown any delusions of grandeur and I’d go so far as to say the idiot politicians threw their power around more than we saw Superman do at any point.

That said, there were 20 minutes of action that were pretty good. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman were all pretty kickass during those 20 minutes and that may have made the movie worth watching. The problem is that the rest of the movie doesn’t make me want to watch it again.  That’s probably why it died off in the theaters after a good opening.

I did enjoy the reveal of the Justice League.  Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg look pretty cool – at least I think that was Cyborg – and I hope the Justice League movie works out better.  I also liked how they showed Batman as a spy/special agent/detective, but I can’t buy Ben Affleck in the role. I’d say Matt Damon would have been better but then Batman would have been pretty short.

Doomsday was a nice villain. He seemed up to the task of making the Trinity really fight and we didn’t have to deal with him spouting any crappy dialog

  1. Yeah, the fight scene was really about the only redeeming quality of that movie. Everything esle was simply unearned angst and misplaced blame, which is at best annoying.
