Passing the Time Before a New Computer

Not too much to ramble about today with the end of Comic-Con, particularly because it’s now time to focus on other things.  For one, I’ve been without a primary computer for about a month now.  Secondly, I was accepted into the WoW Legion Beta when I still don’t even have a max level toon for Warlords.  Third, I’ve got tons of other games I want to start/get back into…seeing as the Steam sale was recent and I just couldn’t pass up at least a few of the deals.  In any case, lots of stuff to focus on now that my batteries have been recharged by 5 days of Comic-Con.

I suppose in reality, I’m a bit wiped out from the Con, but I’ve got plans…I’m working on getting a new computer.  My last main machine was an MSI GT70 with a Nvidia GTX 680M.  A pretty nice machine for when I got it, but that was a few years ago now and even without the crash, I was starting to think it was about time to get something new.  So now I have the full motivation to get something, but what I’m looking at has a build time of about 30 business days.  That’s not really gonna cut it when so many things are going on right now that I want to do.  So I’m thinking of trying out a lop top repair place to see what the damage is.  If repair costs aren’t too much, I might go for it while I wait for the new one to arrive.

One of the primary reasons I want to get moving faster than 30 business days is that I got into the WoW Legion Beta.  My current MBP could probably handle it, but it is extremely low on disk space and I’m not ready to get rid of any more things I’ve installed at this point. Plus the while bootcamp works well for most things, games included, it doesn’t provide the ‘best’ experience.  We’ll see, if it costs a bunch to repair my MSI, I’ll see what I can remove from the MBP.

Finally, the Steam sale was good to me this year and of course I bought too many games that will sit in my backlog for too long.  Once I get the new computer, I plan on setting up goals to work through my backlog.  I’ve seen a bunch of fellow bloggers go through Steam in this fashion – it seems having a Steam account means you have too many games in your backlog.  In any case, I’ve got to make some time and disk space to get through or at least start some of these great games I’ve picked up through the years.
