Zyra’s my Outcast Right Now

A Move to Nami

For the last week or so, I’ve been running about 50% with Zyra and I want something more. With the latest few patches, it really seems like some champs have improved while Zyra has pretty much remained stationary and beyond that, I feel the quality of ADCs have gone down. This has culminated with patch 6.15 where it seems whichever team brings a 4v2 down to bot lane wins, and for some reason, it rarely seems to be my team.

20160731-LoL-GamesIn any case, my first couple of games today where as Zyra and I tried switching up my runes. I backed off my mpen focus and went back to the CDR build. My primary reason for doing this was that not only was I not wining as many games as I wanted, but I was no longer getting the most damage on the team. But instead of turning my game around, I went 2/14/24 and even though the losses were not my fault, I needed a change. Zyra was not doing it for me at the moment.

So I decided to try my hand at healing. At least as a healer, if my ADC is bad, I can keep them alive longer and maybe they’d be able to do something with that extra time. So I switched over to Nami. Going 5/16/61 with 3 victories makes me feel this was a good choice. With Nami, I focus on keeping my ADC in lane as long as possible, not really worrying about the enemy. Then, once leaning is over, I look for where I can best help out by keeping people alive. Usually team fights and objective take downs are where I can make the most difference. If I can get a few heals off and bubble someone, it usually means we win the engagement and if I keep practicing, I’ll get better at it.

20160731-LoL-WindseakersBlessingAs things stand right now, I kinda think healers are pretty strong. With Ardent Censer and Windspeaker’s Blessing there’s a lot of healing bonuses to throw around. So much, that you can even make a dent in the damage some of your tanks are taking. Anyway, for now, I’m rolling with Nami and we’ll see how far that goes. 3 in a row isn’t bad so far.

BTW, people have started listening my request to ban Rengar so I haven’t had to face him today.

Kyle is a Beacon

20160731-Outcast

This latest episode of Outcast provided a pretty interesting reveal and twist. With Kyle and Reverend Anderson having a knock down drag out fight, it looks like things are coming to a head for the first season. I’ve been enjoying it this far and the conversation between Sidney and Kyle puts a bit of perspective on what’s happening in the town. Kyle is the match that draws all the bugs…demons?…to the town. But are they demons? Devils? Aliens? What? I’m still not convinced they are demons and for devils, they sure don’t exorcize very easily. Whatever they are, they’ve made the show interesting and something I’d continue to recommend.
