Quick Build Time On My New Computer

Oh, wow, I had a plan for my post today, but it’s been thrown out the window. After mentioning yesterday that I was doubtful my new laptop would show up till the end of the month, I got a text last night indicating it had shipped. They must have really pulled a Scotty estimation game on that one because they said it would take 31 days to build my machine…its been about a week – I ordered it the Monday after Comic-Con.

So I get home from work today and there it is.

I went with Alienware because I wanted the Graphics Accelerator so I could get a desktop GPU to use for 4K visuals, but apparently that’s the part that may be taking longer…it did not show up with the laptop. A phone call tomorrow will confirm when that’s being sent, but for today, I spent all my free time configuring, downloading BitDefender, installing stuff and running updates.

The machine came with an Nvidia 980M so it’ll handle any of the games I’ve got but I’ve got a 1080 on order for when the graphics accelerator gets here. Anyway, I ended up spending my time on that rather than putting my post together so this is a bit of a thrown together thing.
