LOTRO and Death Note Tidbits

I didn’t get any gaming in today, but I did listen to a few podcasts that provided some interesting tidbits I wanted to comment about.

LOTRO Development

Dadi over at Dadi’s LOTRO Guides has an interview that covers among other things, the future of LOTRO development. In particular, the question of the licensing agreements and their expiration that seems to be hanging over LOTRO next year.

As you can see, there is promising news and that has me excited that the game is continuing. Perhaps it will last long enough for me to catch up. I’ll get it installed on my new computer and we’ll see how that goes…as you know I’m notoriously a procrastinator.

Americanized Live Action Death Note

One of the first manga series that I ever read was Death Note. It’s a story about a teenager who finds a notebook that would cause anyone who’s name was placed in the book to die. The story was really cool, and in 2006, they made an anime version that made it over to America and it too was pretty good. Now, Netflix is filming a live action version that’s due out next year.

And today I found out Willem Dafoe is gonna be voicing Ryuk, the Shinigami (or god of death). I think it’s a good fit and this has me even more excited to see how the film turns out.
