Aztec and H2K Win

Civilization VI AI Battle Royale

20161019-civ6-aibattleThe Aztecs started out pretty strong and carried a mid game lead through to the final victory.  I watched about 400 turns of the match and it was fun to see some of the new dynamics and AIs in action.  At the point I left, it was pretty much in the Aztec hands as they were winning with culture and space victories within easy reach.  I’m pretty sure that if I were in a match where either I dominated try that much or an AI was that far ahead, I would probably have ended the game.  One thing I notices was that with the AIs on the field by themselves, there weren’t any major wars that changed history.  I’m not sure if that’s due to the AI or just this particular game, but it even without major game changing fights, the game was fun to watch.

H2K vs ANX

20161018-lol-h2kvsanxGame 2 of this matchup highlighted H2K’s dominance once again.  They took this match in under 24 minutes for the fastest worlds game so far.  Vander once again rolled with Zyra and took her to a 2/0/5 stat line and I’m gonna keep these games to study since I like his play.  And I’m impressed with how he is able to survive in these deadly matches full of enemy CC that hinders Zyra’s ability to get around.

In game 3, Albus Nox Luna were able to hold on for longer than the 2nd match, but the result was the same.  They put up a better fight, actually holding Vander to 1/3/9 this time around on Zyra, but Ryu and FORG1VEN carried with 7/2/5 and 6/1/3 lines respectively.  I think ANX looks like they’re a pretty evenly skilled team – they all seem to play well, but no one really stands out, at lest in these games.  In anycase, H2K took the game in hand early with ryu’s Syndra taking out Kira’s Zilean about 3 minutes into the game…they never looked back.  H2K heads to the semifinals to face Samsung Galaxy on Saturday.

Versailles

20161017-versaillesWell, Ovation has really messed up their listings and I have absolutely no clue when Versailles is showing. It’s really a shame that in 2016 a TV channel has no consideration for viewer throughout the country – why do they even offer the channel on the West Coast if they can’t put together a valid show listing? Oh well, I may try to find the show on some streaming service or other, but I don’t think I’ll give Ovation another chance to piss me off.
