Destiny Journal #10: Tackling the Dark Beyond
Today I took my first steps on the Moon. I finished off the Cosmodrome yesterday and though I could continue with patrol missions there, I wanted to move the story forward. So I headed for the Moon.
There were some buildings and such scattered around where I landed, but nothing that I had to get into…yet. Instead, I followed my Nav Computer around the outside of a bunch of buildings called the Archer’s Line and the Anchor of Light. There wasn’t too much of note around, just some random mobs and a Captain. I also stole one of their vehicles…it had a gun on it but I was wildly inaccurate with it so I just jumped off when I needed to take any of the critters down.
Sadly, I couldn’t revive him but my Ghost was able to interface for me. Apparently the Hive is planning on building an army up here on the Moon. I can’t let that happen, but it looks like someone else had an interest in what I was doing.
I’m not sure who or what she is, but I don’t like people spying on me…particularly ones with guns that look superior to my own. I wonder what she’s looking for and is she friend or foe. I’m sure I’ll find out sooner or later.
Meanwhile, my investigation triggered something within the Temple and it opened sprewing tons of baddies. Somewhere along the line I upgraded something and it gave me what I think may be my best ability…quicker cooldown on my melee attack. This is great because so many of the bad guys rush you and while you can shoot them, it takes so much extra time to target them with a gun rather than with a melee attack.
Inside the Temple, I encountered Vurok, Eir Spawn. Apparently she was a Witch and a nasty one.
She packed a punch but I had my Golden Gun…a couple of shots and she was down. There is a distinct need to hold your ultimate until you face the big bad of the mission. They seem to go down pretty fast once you pull it out, unless they’re one of the infinite HP Walkers. In any case, I got through the mission and headed back to orbit to see what was next in line.
Definitely, if you get a chance to upgrade your melee attack in any way, take the opportunity to do so – it will help you greatly.
