Happy New Year!!!

Warcraft, Aliens, and a Twilight Zone Marathon all make this first day of 2017 a happy day indeed.

Happy New Year 2017!

Hoping you all had a good 2016 and have an even better 2017!  At least we won’t have to put up with non-stop political ads all year.

A Little Warcraft

Well, the month of December is over and I didn’t reach my goal in WoW.  I had wanted to reach level 103, but spent more of my game time focused on League of Legends than pursuing my goals.  I did take some steps though to move up in level and am now about halfway between 101 and 102.  With the next few days off, I might even reach my goal but even if I don’t, I feel good about the progress I’m making.
I’m still running around the Val’sharah forest and trying to move the story forward.  Things aren’t looking good for Cenarius though and I’m worried he may succumb to the nightmare.  With all the side quests these archdruids are sending me on, I worry I won’t get back to help him in time.

Aliens: More Than Human Issue 2

Aliens: More Than Human Issue 2
Aliens: More Than Human Issue 2. By John Arcudi, Zach Howard, Gabriel Andrade, Marcelo Mueller, and Mark Irwin. Published by Dark Horse Comics in 2009

After the attack in the first issue, only the android from the scientific expedition is still alive, at least the miners buried them.

Sure, he’s worse for wear but he starts to figure out what’s going on with he miners. And he’s got a new mission – rescue a miner who claims they were told to hide from the science ship.
Sporting a neato eye patch, Sereda (the android) learns that the ancient city has a suspicious allure that keeps drawing people to it.  He also runs into a bunch of Xenomorphs that are different from others he’s encountered before.
Fortunately, surrounded by aliens, he’s saved by the same guy who ‘killed’ him in issue 1, but the guy doesn’t seem to remember having killed him – what’s up with that?
This issues had much better alien action and the story is getting pretty interesting – what’s with the ancient city that messes with people’s minds?  I’d give this one a B- but with the nifty eye patch I’ll bump it up to a full B.
Gotta love that cover art too!

Twilight Zone Marathon

This New Years marathon is always a lot of fun. It’s so interesting how television made so many years ago can still stand up and make a social commentary that is relevant today.
Rod Serling brought some classic episodes and great actors to the small screen and I just had to catcth a few of them. Dick York, Billy Mumy, Jonathan Winters, and Jack Klugman are just a few of the wonderful personalities that show up in these classic episodes.
Gotta love ’em.
