Watching a Little Top Chef and Baskets

Today’s been more of a TV watching day rather than much of anything else.  I did play some League of Legends but not much of consequence happened, though I did have one game where 5 summoners – 3 on my team and 2 on the opposing team – were playing 1st time champs.

Top Chef

This may be the last season I watch this show.  I’ve been following it for almost all 14 years but I am really disappointed with the last couple of episodes.  Sure, I can’t taste the food, but if the judges give John another break when he’s clearly deserved to go home multiple times, I will stop watching.  John is such a bully and has been instrumental in the last two failures and he should have gone home both times.  He keeps taking over the teams he’s on and dragging them down, but somehow the judges keep letting him talk his way out of being sent home.  It’s so bad, that with the impression I get that he seems to be doing the majority of narration, I feel the judges are setting things up so he’ll win.  When the judges clearly say he has the worst dish, was chaotic as an executive chef, and dragged Casey into the kitchen to help with plating, I don’t see how they can keep him on the show.  Rigged TV shows are just as bad as rigged games.  At this point, I’ll keep watching but I’m not a happy viewer.

Baskets

This show started up again and it’s just as good as it was last season.  This little half hour show takes me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions every time I watch it.  So far, it looks like Chip found some new friends but he’s put off by some of their habits.  It’s a great show that I easily recommend.
