Playing Some Destiny

A while back, my buddy (who talked me into the PlayStation 4) and I played some Destiny.  We enjoyed ourselves, him more than me – I only made it to level 6 while he topped out around 25.  In any case, while we had fun shooting things and blowing things up, we didn’t pay much attention to the storyline.

Since I’ve been following Belghast over at Tales of the Aggronaut I’ve been reading all about how much fun he’s been having in the game so I figured I had to give the game another try.  This time I’m gonna follow through with the story and actually pay attention.

Needless to say, the first step in the game is creating a character. Destiny allows you 3 characters at least on the PS4.  One slot for each of the character classes.  Since I previously played a Warlock I decided to go with a Hunter this time.

I’m not sure where you actually see your character that you’ve customized in the game, but I kinda like how I set her up.

After all the creation busyness, I finally got into the game and got about 15 minute of play in.  With all the rain we’ve been having here in San Diego, I had to run outside in between storms to clean out the rain gutters that had fill up with crap.

I was able to finish what I think is the tutorial and got a couple guns, shot up some baddies, found a space ship, and flew over to the main city.  Actually the story says it’s the last city that’s under the protection of the Traveller.

And I reached level 2.

I’m hoping I keep up and get some levels into this game.  I’ve seen a bunch of people really enjoy it and I want to see what it’s all about.

So I hope this is the first of a series of entries on Destiny – but then I’ve said that before.
