Fly Me To The Moon Again

Destiny Journal Entry #13: Fly Me To The Moon

Another mission on the Moon and another long flight scene.

The mission is to find the Sword of Crota.  It won’t be easy but I’m looking forward to taking on these Princes. Frustrated by e it takes to get to the Moon, though, I take a break for some food, but eventually…

I get there and start heading back to where my last mission finished…oops…the wrong direction.  One thing I need to make sure to do when I start off a new missions is to make sure to hit navigation and find out where I need to be headed.  My bad, but there are plenty of bad guys to shoot at in all directions it seems.

Unfortunately, I ran outta time IRL to finish the missions since I went in the wrong direction.  Next time though, I know where I need to go.

Another Matchmaker Mismatch

Once again I question Riot’s Matchmaker, though this example is a bit less extreme than the previous…

3 Silvers and 2 Bronze 1 against a variety of Bronze players.  This once again could have been split much more evenly based on rank, but not only that, experience.  The Silver heavy team has a summoner with a low game count of 59 while the Bronze team has 3 summoners with less than 30 wins in ranked play.  How is the Matchmaker setting this up?

I really wonder if the fairness gauge of the Matchmaker is reduced as matches get declined before Champ Select.  I have noticed that for me at least, I tend to get either one of the 2 role preferences if the match is built with no declines.  The more declines, it seems, the more chance that I’ll get an autofilled position rather than one of my preferences.

I’ll have to start recording the number of match announcements and declines and the resulting matchup.  It could be that the Matchmaker starts with good intentions and then the fairness weight decreases with the more declines you go through.  It’ll be interesting to see some data on this.
