Should Have Brought A Sword

Nioh Challenge Entry #2: First of Many

Last time I came to Nioh, I barely set foot in the game.  This time around though, I made some headway…or at least let my head got in the way.

I haven’t done much research on this game so far but I have a feeling I’m gonna have to step up and do some reading.  What I do know comes from within the game.  The basic story seems to be an Englishman takes a visit to Asia, following in the footsteps of Marco Polo.

But since Marco already found a bunch of stuff about the East out, it looks like my goal is gonna be to bring something back.  See…the Queen needs magical powers to help out in her quest to take over the world and she wants me to go find some stones that will help the empire.  To see if I’m up to the task though, I’ve been thrown into the dungeon of the Tower of London.

And to facilitate my escape, I’ve been joined up with a guardian spirit.

She’s a bunch of help and points the way to break out of my cell.  So I follow her – I’m out, but I’m not free yet…I’ve got to get past my jailer first. So here I am, bare chested and bare foot and I’ve got to break out of jail so what should I do?  I guess I’ll run at my jailer in hopes it’ll scare him off.

Oh, but he’s got a sword.  Guess it’s time to learn how to dodge?

Or maybe I can grab the Sword outta his hands when he swings it.

I know…I’ll…

Ouch – I didn’t want to block with my head…ahh…it’s getting dark…ahh…

So this is what this game is gonna look like.

5 minutes in and I’m dead.  From the looks of things, this is probably a scene I’ll see a bunch of in Nioh.  I guess it was fun but I hope to make a better showing next time.  I also hope to get some kind of weapon next time as well.

Since Nioh is in the Dark Souls genre of games, I’m gonna keep an eye on how many times I die in this game…

Death Count: 1
