March Goal Madness

Horizon

This looks like a really cool game with great reviews and set in an interesting world…I really want to give it a try, but I’m gonna resist…at least for now. March is a busy month for me with Spring Training in baseball, March Madness in College basketball, work deadlines, and then I’ve got plans in other games, and lots of other things. So let me explore my plans and see if I can set an attainable goal to reach that would trigger me to move into Horizon like so many others are.

Destiny

I’ve kinda put Destiny on the back burner during the second half of February but I’m itching to get further in the story. I’d like to finish off the missions on the Moon and I think the asteroid belt is next. If I can finish the month heading to Venus, I’ll be be happy.

Nioh

This is a tough game and I’ve barely broken the surface of it. Actually, I don’t even think I’ve made it to the leveling part of the game yet after the weeks I’ve been playing. I have a feeling I’ll get outta London soon but I’d like to set a goal of not only getting outta London, but also moving past the second area which I think is called Kyushu. I think once I move on to the leveling zones I’ll start moving a bit faster…or I’ll die more often and have more gorey details to post about.

Reading

I’ve been making good progress with my reading goals and plan to keep that up. My plan is to get through the next Asimov robot book – The Naked Sun, The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen, and Gateway by Frederik Pohl. This will keep me on track to read 3 books a month even though I seem to keep reading the first book of a series and filling up my backlog with the follow-on novels and my backlog is getting pretty long.

Comics

On the comic front, I’m reading through the first 12 issues of The Authority by Warren Ellis and Saga by Brian K. Vaughan for my comic book club and I’m planning on going through the Year One issues of Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka. That should keep me busy in the comic realm for the month.

Fantasy Baseball

Finally, another thing that’s in between me and Horizon is the fact that the MLB season starts soon and I’ve gotta prepare and draft my fantasy teams. I’ve got a couple of leagues I’m playing in this year and if I want to be competitive, I have to put in the hours and the research.

Back to Horizon

So, if I want to give myself the go ahead to purchase and play Horizon, I’ve got a bunch of things to get through first. And that’s not even considering that I want to start work on my plan to get to max level in LOTRO and start up a fresh Secret World character and move forward in my plans to reach Gold in League of Legends. So many plans and so many games I want to play…too many that I have to limit myself or I’ll get nowhere. So, Horizon looks neat but it’s gonna be a project down the line, maybe this Summer rather than this Spring.
