A Couple of YouTubes of Interest

While I’ve been paying so much attention to the 2017 March Mammal Madness and my fantasy baseball leagues, things have still been happening that I wanted to pay a bit of attention to.

Relaunch of TSW

First up is the relaunch of The Secret Wold as Secret World Legends. I’m kinda of mixed feelings on this since I’ve been meaning to head back into the wonderfully fun and creepy world of TSW for a while now. I’m wondering what this relaunch means and how significantly things’ be changed. I mean, sure, I’d like to see updated and refined combat and improved graphics to go along with the great story of the game, but I’m not really sure what they mean when they say it’ll be a “Shared World Action RPG”. Does that mean it’ll be more an MMO any further? Or more like Marvel Heroes or Destiny? Will the still be raids and dungeons? Or just the quests?

I certainly hope they are able to keep the MMO flavor and not get rid of the group and raid content while adding in more action elements, but I’m not gonna hold my breath.

Justice League Trailer

The trailer for Justice League is out and…where’s Superman? He’s conspicuously absent from the video but we do get to see the other big players. I think with Wonder Woman, Superman, and Aquaman, the DC movie universe is a lot more ‘demigod’ heavy than the Marvel cinematic universe so it’ll be good to see how they do things differently. I’m really hoping DC gets it’s act together for this movie and for the Wonder Woman movie coming out soon.

My big fear from the trailer is that not only did they not show Superman, but I don’t know who the bad guys are. Are they gonna have a real bad guy with good characterization or are they gonna cop out and go the Suicide Squad route by just having humanoid shaped targets for the superheroes to pummel? As I’ve mentioned before, I really believe that the measure of a hero is how well developed the bad guy is.

And I hope they dont do the Suicide Squad thing where we are forced to sit through the heroes’ dossiers listing off their likes and dislikes. The trailer doesn’t give me much confidence for this.
