With just over a month left until Comic-Con 2017 I’m starting to get excited and prepared. The main thing this week has been parking. Since I missed out on the lottery system, I had to wait till this week – June 12th actually – to get access to prepaid parking.
Here are where the lots are located:
I ended up with the same parking each day and paid a middle of the road amount – I actually managed to keep parking expenses less than the convention ticket cost this year so I feel a sense of accomplishment.
Good luck getting your parking.
Sadly, the San Diego City council went against hundreds of thousands of voters and chose to deny a special election in November for a vote on the expansion of the convention center. The mayor originally vetoed their obstruction but they overrode his veto and denied the voters the opportunity to express their democratic right to vote. With this rejection of the will of the voters, we now have to wait until November 2018 to vote on the expansion. Hopefully this won’t impact Comic-Con and we’ll still be able to keep it here in San Diego, but with continued delays on expansion, I fear there may eventually come a day when the con will move away from wonderful San Diego.
