Mastering Isis is appropriate for Superman’s Death

Daily Ramble 38: Mastering Isis is appropriate for Superman’s Death

Even though I didn’t plan it this way, it was appropriate for me to gain my mastery of Isis in SMITE the day after I finished reading the Final Days of Superman. With Isis being called the Goddess of Magic, she was instrumental in the funeral rites of the pharaohs and in the resurrection of her husband Osiris. Perhaps she’ll show up in DC’s Rebirth to help Superman comeback from the dead? But yes, he does die at the end of the story arc.

The Final Days of Superman is good though and worth reading – I read through the entire 8 issue story in one day. And by finishing that off along with mastering the goddess Isis, I feel better about the fact that I sadly was given the Mushroom Cave to explore once again in Albion.

Same Mushroom Cave, New Patch

In Albion today I managed to be assigned the same Mushroom Cave Expedition I’ve had for the last month.

Supposedly they added two new Tier 6 expeditions but I didn’t have time to queue up for more than the one I got. I am a little bit worried about the reduction in healing that came with the later patch so I went ahead with my Great Fire Staff build and the expedition was fairly straightforward. One thing to note however is that with the new patch there’s additional requirements to kill more of the creatures in the cave. No longer will there be five or six minute speed runs because we now have to veer off from the main pathway to take on other creatures.

Another Mastery in SMITE

Today in SMITE I managed to get Isis up to level one mastery.

She seems to be a pretty good mage with a lot of crowd control. I haven’t really figured out how to use her 3 (Dispell Magic) ability but her number 2 (Spirit Ball) spell and number 1 (Wing Gust) spell are pretty straightforward. She seems like a well rounded god but I’m a little concerned about her seeming lack of mobility. I’ll have to look into that more as I play her further.

Final Days of Superman

Last night I got so engrossed in the Final Days of Superman story arc that I read through the final four issues without stopping.

The story is pretty good and it ties together a bunch of the different DC story arcs that I’ve read recently. It brings in Ulysses from the Men of Tomorrow storyline I read in June, the parallel Earth Superman from Superman: Lois and Clark which I started touching on yesterday, and events from the Justice League. One more story arc – Titans Hunt – and I’m ready to move on to DC’s rebirth.
