Mushroom Caves, Titans Grouping and Seal Team

Daily Ramble 52: Mushroom Caves, Titans Grouping and Seal Team

My time in Albion was straightforward for a change but I’m starting to get antsy to do some exploration. Along with that I realize I don’t do much in the way of grouping like I’m seeing take shape in Titans Hunt. That comic has been pretty good and now the team is starting to come together for a big fight. And speaking of big fights, I watched the first episode of Seal Team last night and while there weren’t any big one, they did fight through a terrorist base. Quite a ramble today…

Easy Run

With all the troublesome tanks I’ve had lately, today’s expedition run was pretty easy. The tank was well equipped at 875 and the DPS knew how to stay outta the damage. At least until the final boss fight where I sadly let someone die. He just kept standing still as the red circle expanded under his feet and he got electrocuted by lightening. It was a fun and quick run through the Mushroom Cave.

One things I’m starting to realize is that I have been doing pretty much ZERO exploration in this game. Perhaps it’s the PvP nature of the game or the fact that for me to get somewhere to explore, I’ve gotta run quite a bit of distance, but I don’t know. Perhaps this weekend I’ll see about exploring, but I’m not sure I have the time on a regular basis to run out to something new and then run all the way back. With the lack of a “hearthstone”, it takes twice as long to get anywhere and back – and I’m not sure I want to log out in a blue zone and not in a city. We’ll see…

Coming Together

In Titans Hunt, I’ve made it to chapter 7 and things are starting to come together or at least the Teen Titans are starting to group up and recognize that they’re a team. Garth, Nightwing, and Donna finished off Mammoth last issue and they’re faced with a towering spiral they begin to climb and they realize they’ve been there before but aren’t sure what the deal is…yet. Meanwhile, it turns out the Diablo team that showed up in the last issue is a duo of robots called the experimental combat-chasis strike droids. And they’re pretty nasty. They’re both strong as heck with “Honeybun” taking down Gnarrk and sparing with Arsenal while “Daddy” combines with a car and puts the smackdown on Dove until the team turns things around. While they are taking on Diablo, back at the hospital, Malcom’s wife is attacked by Mr. Richards who is also part of the Diablo group and it turns out she’s got powers like everyone else. I’m still not sure of everyone’s name yet but it sure looks like there’s a whole bunch of Teen Titans.

Titans Hunt #7 by Dan Avnet, Paulo Siqueira, Carlos M. Mangual, and Hi-Fi. Published by D.C. comics 2016.

It seems the big bad – Mr. Twister – controlled the Teen Titans in the past and now he’s calling them back together and causing them to remember being his pawns. He’s started with Lilith who’s got some serious psychic powers and who actually contacted Diablo to help the Titans. The problem is, Diablo figured it would be easier to destroy the Titans rather than stop Mr. Twister so they started attacking. In any case, it looks like the next issue is gonna have some serious conflict as the Titans are all grouping up and I think they’re gonna take on Mr. Twister as a team so it’ll be fun to see where this leads. From what the indications are, if they fail, there will be some major changes to the world and some major bad guys coming to this plane of existence so I gotta think this could be a catalyst for Rebirth or just a prelude.

Seal Team

The fall television season is well upon us and I’ve started going through some of the shows I’ve recorded to see if they’re worth watching. Last night I watched the first episode of Seal Team on CBS and I’d say it was ok. It didn’t knock my socks off and it wasn’t horrible but I was entertained for an hour that I won’t complain about. I usually don’t have much interest in these action dramas but with David Boreanaz and Max Thieriot starring, I thought I’d give it a try.

I’ve enjoyed Boreanaz since Buffy and Thieriot was really good in Bates Motel so I figured it had the star power that piqued my interest. The story was pretty basic…Navy Seal team invading a terrorist compound to extract a bad guy but instead they save a hostage. About the only thing unexpected was that they took a dog with them into the fight and I will say that I’ll give this show a chance as long as they don’t hurt the dog. I’ve got 2 more episodes recorded so we’ll see if things hold up as I catch up, but for now I’ll keep it on my weekly recording schedule.
