Beast Mode!

Daily Ramble 65: Beast Mode

Zero results from Comic-Con registration makes me a very sad person indeed. I did everything I needed to do but I’ll have to wait for Open Registration sometime later to see if I get to go to Comic-Con 2018. I sure hope my luck improves. Depressed by my lack of tickets, I headed into Secret World Legends in search of excitement…and I got it. Apparently the Morninglight cult is ramping up activity and the Templars want me to keep an eye on them. Finally,Chris Bachalo comes back to Wolverine and the X-Men for issue 8 and shows us what Beast is capable of. And boy does the blue fur fly!

No Comic-Con Registration for me

Well that was disappointing. San Diego Comic-Con 2018 registration came and went and I got to sit watching a spinning wheel of blue dots for an hour and 20 minutes. No luck getting tickets but I’m now dizzy.

Oh well, I guess this means I’ll be experiencing the wilds of Open Registration, whenever that’s gonna be. Usually I get at least one day – I’ve got 2 other people I group with to try to register, but none of us had any luck.

Open Registration is gonna be interesting…I just hope I have better luck.

Morninglight Delivery

After blowing things up yesterday with Moose’s improvised gear, today I decided to start out by searching for Old Tom. He has been having trouble with the Morninglight cultists trespassing on his land and causing havoc but since the fog hit, the police haven’t had the manpower to do anything about it.

Unfortunately I found Tom dead near a impromptu camp of hippies who turned out to actually be more of the cultists. Not a good turn of events but I realized for me to do anything, I’d have to get more info about these guys. And somehow I’d have to figure out how to make them pay for killing Old Tom.

For starters I saw their leader passing something off to a courier so I followed him. Turns out this lackey wasn’t too bright and he ran into a sanguine wendigo resulting in his death.

For some reason the wendigo took the package so I followed and took him down.

It turns out this was the right idea since my Templar superiors want me to infiltrate the Morninglight and by delivering their package I’ve taken a step in the right direction.

Beast is a…Beast!

Wow, I’ve never seen Beast go off on someone before but I can see where he gets his name from. The usually mild-mannered Hank McCoy really can bring it when he is defending the life of someone he loves. Apparently he’s been dating the current director of the Sentient World Observation and Response Department (SWORD) and the Hellfire Club has brought in Sabertooth in an attempt to bring down the school. Sabertooth figures going after SWORD’s director will bring Beast out of the school where he’ll be vulnerable.

He didn’t count on Hank going all Beast-Mode on him and sending him flying off into space is serious condition.

Meanwhile the students got together to make a return visit to Planet Sin where they put the beatdown on the casino guards and grabbed what I think must be a matter transmutation ray – the same one probably that was used to break Wolverine’s legs.

This was another good issue written by Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo came back to the art so the look was back to that of the first 3 issues rather than the most recent few..
