Comic-Con 2018 Open Registration

Daily Ramble 93: Comic-Con 2018 Open Registration

The 2018 Open Registration announcement for Comic-Con arrived in my email the other day and I’m surprised and happy it’s nearly upon us. I wasn’t expecting anything until next year but it’ll be good to get this taken care of so I can start making plans or figuring out what I’m gonna do.

‘Plans’ for the circumstance where I get my tickets for all 4 days and ‘figuring out’ for the chance that I get shut out again and don’t get any tickets. I’m still a bit in shock that neither I nor the 2 other friends I grouped up with got tickets during pre-registration. In the past, I’m pretty sure I’ve at least got a single day during that phase of ticket sales. Oh well, I have faith I’ll get something in this round of sales. I suppose if all else fails, I can head to downtown San Diego during the convention to experience all the activities available to people outside the convention center.

Another plan I’m looking into is going to WonderCon up in Anaheim. I’ve been to this convention a couple times both in Anaheim and up in San Francisco but since Anaheim is a 90 minute drive I usually only attend for a single day. WonderCon is definitely a smaller convention but since I only go for the single day it seems larger since I can’t see everything in that time. It is a fun experience and serves as a nice stepping stone for Comic-Con and they even have some similar panels and exhibitors.

There are a bunch of other conventions in Southern California that I could try to attend, but the grandaddy of them all is my main focus. I suppose if I strike out getting tickets on December 9th, I an always look around to see what else is nearby…there are a couple shows up in Los Angeles and I’ve heard of a con in Palm Springs so I could always look into attending those. And then there’s ComicFest here in San Diego that I’ve always wanted to check out.

Hmm…there are a bunch of options…I just have to take things one step at a time and first thing is getting tickets on December 9th.
