My Reading:

Short and sweet, this Epilogue gets right to the point and really makes a statement.

We see a planet and zoom in to see that it’s Mars. And we see a watch like we did at the start of this book. Mars was always a place Dr. Manhattan would go to be alone. And it was somewhere he would think about reality…and time.

We then see someone ask for confirmation they did the right thing since things worked out in the end…a typical “end justifying the means” question. And someone responds nothing ever ends.

What did I learn:

  • Somehow Ozymandias and Dr. Manhattan are gonna be part of Rebirth.
  • Perhaps Dr. Manhattan was the watcher who stole the time from the DC Universe.

My Thoughts:

WOW! The Watchmen!!! Same as last chapter – I’m just blown away. I knew they were involved somehow but I didn’t know there would be such a direct connection. Of course, the Ozymandius and Dr. Manhattan references are still implied, but it’s pretty clear these characters are what the reader is supposed to think. Rebirth looks like it’s gonna be a lot of fun.

My Rating: A
