The Halos Turn It Around, I Don’t

Daily Ramble 212: The Halos Turn It Around, I Don’t

It was good to see my team turn things around on Saturday particularly when my gaming was nothing but frustration.

Stopping the Bleeding

The Angels have to be happy to have Garrett Richards today. He stopped the losing streak and set the team back on the right track. It wasn’t easy though. The Giants got on the board first in the second inning with a Home Run from Brandon Belt. That didn’t slow Richards though, he pitched 6 strong innings, striking out 11 and scattering 6 hits.

He picked up the win, but I have to give my Player of the Game to Mike Trout again. He hit his league leading 8th Home Run and added 2 doubles to go with it. He also grabbed a stolen base to try to make things happen in the 8th. Overall, he was exciting to watch Saturday.

Finally, I wanted to give a shout out to Pujols who’s getting mighty close to 3000 hits. I think he’ll get there this next week and that’ll be a huge celebration.

Frustration Gaming

I didn’t make it into the Defiance Beta this weekend so I tried to entertain myself with some MOBA time. Unfortunately my mind wasn’t in it. I musta played 4 matches of SMITE and another 4 of League and I didn’t win a single one. Sometimes it just gets like that. I’ve still got a pretty solid 53% winning percent in League but I really hate when Riot throws these losing streaks a me. And I’m pretty sure they set these things up…I mean there’s no reason to have back-to-back games where one player or another is trying out a champ for the first time, and yet somehow I get multiple people trying new champs out and they’re all on my team. And then somehow, even with Support as my backup role, I was assigned to play Jungler.

The bottom line is that while my frustrations with baseball and watching my team have been taken care of, I’m really frustrated with my MOBA playing. I’m even considering putting them on the shelf for a while because I hate having my relaxation time ruined by so many bad teams.

That’s all I feel like rambling about today. Hopefully things will turn around for me today and I’ll either start winning my matches or I’ll put the MOBAs aside and get back to leveling up in some MMOs.
