Brewers Gain The Advantage In LA

I didn’t get a chance to watch any of this game but from the sound of things Milwaukee dominated the Dodgers.

14 strike outs and only 5 hits makes it hard for a team to compete, particularly in the playoffs.

As far as the Western contender in this match, they just really didn’t do much. Manny Machado picked up 2 of the 5 hits and one of them was a double but his 2 for 3 game with a walk even, wasn’t enough when hardly anyone else on the team could hit the ball. Jhoulys Chacín threw a great 5 1/3 innings and shut down anything the Dodgers put together. His 6 strike outs and the double plays he induced held the Dodgers scoreless until he handed things over to the bullpen which did the same.

In any case, the 4–0 win moves Milwaukee another step closer to the World Series and winning in LA certainly gives them the upper hand.

Pitcher of the Day: Jhoulys Chacín, MIL – 5 1/3 INN, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
Orlando Arcia, MIL – 2–4, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR
