This is so exciting…I am really looking forward to a true addition to the Ghostbusters franchise and am glad they’ve included a comic to build the hype.

With all the controversy and bad publicity, I never watched the 2016 movie, but with the original cast supporting this release, I am definitely gonna be onboard – even the early trailer looks cool!

In any case, this issue is focused on building a background for the series by highlighting the first few days of Winston Zeddemore’s employment with the team. We meet Egon, Ray, Venkman and Janine even get to see Dana, Louis, and a bunch of others from the first movie.

This idea is that Rebecca Morales is a reporter who’s been hired to put together a book on the Ghostbusters, so she’s interviewing the team. And starting with Winston is a good idea since we never really got to see how his first few days as a Buster went.

We learn in this issue that he actually comes face to face with Edgar Allan Poe.

It’s a good (re)introduction to the team and the franchise, and I’m looking forward to more. The art is something I would expect in a video game, and the style works well for the events covered.
