A Traitor and a Loss

Another day, another baseball game – yeah! I am so excited to have MLB back, and even though my team lost today, I had a great day watching baseball. Oh yeah, there was also a really cool supernatural fight in The Rook that sorted out some of the good guys from the bad.

Traitor at the Dinner Party

With the recent revelations about Gestalt, Myfanwy has no problem breaking the news to the rest of the Chequy leadership. Interestingly enough, she does it at a dinner reception for the American Bishops. As she outs the traitor, all hell breaks loose, supernatural abilities are deployed all over the place, and two of the Gestalt bodies are taken as prisoners.

First Loss

While the Checquy were somewhat successful in their flushing out of the Grafter agents, game two of the Angel’s season was not as successful as the first, but it sure had excitement. A grand slam, a 5 for 5 game, and a near comeback made this pretty enjoyable though the Angels lost. Jose Abreu hit the first grand slam of the 2021 season for the White Sox, while Yermin Mercedes picked up hits in all 5 of his at bats to drive Chicago’s victory.

The Angels had some excitement of their own with home runs by Pujols and Ohtani and a near comeback in the 5th, but they never regained the lead after the first inning.

Personally, while I would have been ecstatic to see the team start out 2–0, I’m happy they won game 1 and are sitting at 1–1 two games into the season.

West Coast Baseball Day Two

As for the rest of the West Coast teams, they were all playing each other, so we have a split down the middle. The Dodgers, Astros, Padres, and Giants won while the Rockies, A’s, D-Backs, and Mariners lost. 4–5 for the day with Texas taking the day off.

Trevor Bauer struck out 10 for the Dodgers while a trio of Blue picked up 3 hits apiece (Seager, Turner, and Smith). Buster Posey and Evan Longoria both homered in Seattle to drive the Giants victory, while Michael Brantley smacked 3 doubles and Alex Bregman knocked in 3 on a home run and a single to pace the Astros. Tatis Jr is only batting .125 for the Padres, but Eric Hosmer is picking up the slack going 3 for 3 with his 2nd home run of the season and grabbing 3 RBIs while he was at it. On the whole – it was a great second day of baseball.

It’s a Wrap

So two days into the season, and I love it! I’m looking forward to 162 games this year, and even though my Angels lost today, I am good with the fact that baseball is back. And, I’m also glad to see some serious progress in The Rook, and that fight scene was pretty cool!
