Keep Politics Out Of Baseball

I am really saddened by the MLB Commissioner’s decision to interpose politics into MLB. When are the idiots in charge of SPORTS, which people use to escape from reality and political crap, going to realize that they only hurt the sport they are responsible for when they mix politics and sport? It’s not like they’re gonna get more fans for pulling this crap, and the only thing it does is alienate and ostracize fans who refuse to endorse whatever political crap they want to bring into the game.

I have boycotted the NFL – I still watch NCAA football – for the past 3 years because they want to make the sport political – I refuse. I haven’t watched a single game – not even the SUPERBOWL since they started politicizing the sport – and I certainly do not feel the loss. I’ve even gone so far as to identify sponsors – like Nike – who promote the NFL, and I have refused to purchase any of their crap.

Politics do not belong in sports.

Now, if they want to encourage discussion – fine – but there should never be any one-sided political statements if the sport hopes to sell itself to all fans. I can only hope MLB smartens up and abandons their political hacks pushing an agenda that makes the sport unsustainable.

Anyway, on to my ramble…

More about Her Memory Loss

After interrogating Gestalt last time around, we learn that Ingrid has known about Myfanwy’s memory loss since it occurred. Apparently, she was in the office as Thomas was fighting for her memories. She was also able to provide more information about how Myfanwy was able to escape, which give Thomas the chance to dig further into who attacked her.

Back on the Winning Wagon.

Game 3 of 2021 put the Angels back on the winning side of things. They put together another come from behind win and took a second game from the White Sox. This time around, it was Justin Upton and Jared Walsh who turned the game around in the 8th inning. Things are definitely exciting with my Angels this early season.

West Coast Baseball Day Three

Day 3 saw a full slate of games for the Left Coast teams, and once again, they were mostly facing off against each other. Chris Flexen made a nice impression with his debut in Seattle as he went 5 innings with 6 strikeouts and no runs to pick up the win against the Giants. France and Haniger both went yard for the Mariners as Seattle won 4–0. The Padres also put up a shutout against the Diamondbacks as San Diego native, Joe Musgrove, threw 6 innings of shutout ball, and Manny Machado smacked his first HR of the season to push the Padres to a 7–0 victory. The Dodgers came from behind, and Kenley Jansen picked up his first save of the year (a 5-out deal) as Los Angeles beat Colorado 6–5. Houston continued their dominance of the A’s as they won 9–1. Oakland may be 0–3 to start the season, but they still scare me whenever they play the Angels. Finally, Texas dropped their second in a row to KC by a score of 4–11 as Gallo smacked his first HR of the year.

Three games into the season, and now I start hearing about some political controversy having to do with voting and the All Star Game – can’t MLB just stay out of politics?

It’s a Wrap

Politics, baseball, and memory loss…it was a good but frustrating day. It’d be nice to have a sport that stayed out of politics but then again, it’d be nice to have a commissioner who had a brain and punished cheaters too. I sure wish MLB would find someone who actually valued the sport and protected it rather than trying to appease special interests.

Anyway, an Angel win was fun to watch, a bunch of West Coast games was cool, and another few chapters of The Rook rounded out a good day.
