Leveling Up, Fading Away, and Disneyland

Today I’m still hanging around in Ered Luin, knocking out quests while I level up. As I’ve mentioned, I wanted to gain a few levels before I jumped back into the main story quest so I don’t have to fear being under-leveled and destroyed in the instances…which can be kinda tough. Along with leveling, I read through another chapter of The Eye of the World, and with the TV show at about the same point I am in the book, things are getting a bit confusing…I still love the book, though. Finally, I keep up my running, and my virtual trek up California has reached Disneyland today.

The Goods

Completing Deeds

In LOTRO today, I focused on finishing up the quests I had in Gondamon.  Pangolyn managed to turn in 7 quests today and completed 3 deeds – Spider-Slayer, Enmity of the Spiders, and Ally of Ered Luin.  I’m just about to hit level 15, so I think I’ll finish off the few quests I have left, then head back to the main story quest. This is a fun area, though – I enjoy the look and the quests.

Dancing and Fading and Growing

Chapter 17 is a very active chapter with lots going on.  It starts with the whole group hanging out in The Stag and Lion Inn in Baerlon, where Thom plays a bunch of songs, and everyone ends up getting into the dancing spirit.  Rand dances with Egwene, Egwene dances with Perrin, Perrin dances with Moiraine, they all dance with Nynaeve…anyway, they have a fun time, but of course, it is the calm before the storm.

Rated a Must Read

Whiteclocks, a Fade, and Aes Sedai magic all come together as the chapter winds down, and the fellowship takes off outta Baerlon while it seems The Stag and Lion Inn burns. It seems the Caemlyn Road will be home for a while, and with all the happenings in this chapter, I give this one another Must Read status.

I’m Going to Disneyland!

No visit to Anaheim (even a virtual one) would be complete without a stopover at Disneyland.  Of course, at one point (when the Angels won the World Series), my Angels team was owned by Disney, and the stadium is less than 3 miles from the “Happiest Place on Earth,” so a run between the two is not too difficult.

Disney has grown over the years, and while I used to know the amusement park like the back of my hand, having spent many years with season passes, I hardly recognize it anymore. With Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Avengers Campus, and in fact, all of California Adventure, I haven’t been to half of the attractions in the area.

One of these years, I’m gonna have to head back to Disney in person and not virtually so I can check it all out.

It’s a Wrap

Someday I’ll have to take a serious look at what is more terrifying – a Whitecloak, an Aes Sedai, or a Fade. I’m thinking I’m gonna end up thinking the Fade is the worse though the Whitecloaks are a pretty evil sort of human being. I suppose in a Dungeons & Dragons sense of things, I’d say the Whitecloaks seem to follow a Lawful Evil sort of alignment while I think the Fade would go more along the lines of a True of Neutral Evil alignment. As for the Aes Sedai, I don’t see them as necessarily Evil in any global manner, each one tends to follow her own personal alignment.

Anyway, I’ve been enjoying reading the Wheel of Time and am excited to see that my running has made it up to Disneyland. Those coupled with accomplishing Deeds in LOTRO help me feel that overall, today was a good day, and I hope you all had an interesting and enjoyable day as well.
