Ramble for September 6, 2022

So wait a minute…now that I’ve decided that reading a book would be a good diversion since it’s too hot to play video games, our wonderful Governor Newsom is telling us that we need to not use energy between 4 pm and 9 pm so that there are not actual blackouts. Huh?

I would have thought energy demand might be highest during the middle of the day, but Gavin wants us to stop using electricity after 4 pm. Oh yeah, and he’s also asking us NOT to CHARGE the electric cars that he keeps forcing us to buy.

How are we supposed to get to work? Or cook? Or anything?

I love living in San Diego, but we have a pretty nutty Governor that does not seem to live in the same reality as the majority of people. Somehow he keeps getting elected, though. I just hope Americans, on the whole, have more sense when he runs for President…though he may be too young to hold that office for the next couple of decades.

In any case, I did get through a few chapters of The Hobbit. I’m actually doing a hybrid read with some of the chapters read on my iPad while other chapters are listened to on my iPhone. It works out pretty well, and I can listen to all the songs rather than read and try to put them to a tune. I’m much happier when I don’t have to figure out the poetry.

Wow, and I just realized it was Tuesday instead of Monday – WooHoo! Let’s hope this heat moves on soon and stays gone.

Anyway, that’s all I have for today. I’m hoping to ramble some more soon, and In any case, I’m looking forward to making the rest of today a good one, and I hope you all have a great day.
