Final Reading List on Day 5 of Blaugust 2025

Day 5 of Blaugust features the conclusion of my AI reading list battle. 37 books and series went in, 7 came out. Actually, I think I’ll give myself a special mention selection since I’m excited to read it. In any case, here are the results from yesterday…

Results: 4 AI, 4 selections each, 16 votes, 8 recommendations.

3 The Name of the Wind
3 The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August
3 The Three-Body Problem
3 Lies of Locke Lamora
1 The Expanse
1 The Wheel of Time
1 Interview with the Vampire
1 Dungeon Crawler Carl

There’s a clear breakdown from yesterday with the top selections each receiving 3 votes each. That makes the selection of 4 of them real easy. With that my final seven AI reading recommendations that cover a diverse mix of fantasy, sci-fi, horror, long series, and standalone novels is:

Dune
Project Hail Mary
Carrie
The Name of the Wind
The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August
The Three-Body Problem
Lies of Locke Lamora

The only recommendation that made it through to the finish that started with a single vote in the first round was The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August which placed very well on day 2 of voting.

As for my special mention, I am going to include Dungeon Crawler Carl in my Blaugust/Summer/Fall reading list because it is the only book to garner 2 total votes – 1 in the first round and 1 in the 2nd round. Plus, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the audiobook and saw the author and narrator at Comic-Con. I suppose if I added in my prompt that I wanted a humorous book in my diverse selection, I may have got this or We are Legion (We are Bob) instead of something else, but I am happy with 8 selections.

I named this my Blaugust/Summer/Fall reading list because I have no idea how long this is all gonna really take me to read (or listen to), but I am gonna give it a try. And I’m excited to have a bunch of stuff on a list that I can look at to measure my progress on. I think that will help keep me reading even on days where I have lesser motivation. Finally, I think with some good reading material I think I’ll have plenty to discuss here at BTG.
