A Day for Rook Trout

Today started out with the bug guys showing up at my house to spray our yard for little nasties so I think it started out pretty well. Then I was able to get in a bit of Secret World Legends. As I’m re-reading The Rook, I really feel like I’ve gotta run around in that game since the supernatural vibe is so cool. Besides taking some time to play SWL and read The Rook, I’m trying to figure out if I should be making posts or pages for my chronology. Finally, while I’ve moved on from Blue Mountain and Solomon Island in SWL where the bugs are rampant, I found a nice bug squasher. Next time I venture into those areas I’m gonna bring Mike Trout along cause he seems to be real good at mashing things. 7 RBIs in one game is pretty impressive and this guy is truly incredible.

Page or Post, Chapter 2 of The Rook is Incoming

I enjoyed posting through the day on Tuesday as I read through the first chapter of The Rook and I’m gonna try to continue that today. I seem to be a bit more busy so far though and am getting a bit of a late start but I’ll still give it a go.

One thing I need to figure out is if I want to continue this series of posts as pages like the first chapter was originally do or should I switch to actual posts. My thinking on pages was that it would act as kinda a spoiler alert since only people who chose to go to the page would see what I’m talking about while if I posted it as an regular post it would show up on the home page here and people may not want to be spoiled. I suppose another option would be to use a post that includes a “continued reading” link that would allow me to start the thoughts on the home page and then allow anyone who is interested to jump to the rest of the web chronology.

Perhaps I’ll give that last version a try. In any case, here’s where you can check out my thoughts on Chapter 2 of the Rook.

Trout on Fire

Wow! That was one of the best games of Mike Trout’s career and I’m happy to see it propelled the Angels over the .500 mark for the first time since mid-April. With people coming back from the Injury List and the offense starting to mesh I am psyched to watch this team.

I think they have a serious possibility to challenge for one of the Wild Card spots in the American League.

Sure, it’s not even the All-Star break but I’m re-excited for a team that has had some tough luck with pitching and injuries. Hopefully with the players they’re getting back and Mike Trout they’ll be able to make a run at the playoffs in the second half.

In any case, Trout went 3 for 6 with 2 HRs including a grand slam. On the way there, he picked up 7 RBIs, a career high, and scored a couple of runs.

The Angels went on to win the game 11–6 to make it 3 in a row and improve to 38–37 on the year.

Hopefully the momentum will continue.

It’s a Wrap

Page or Post, I tried page last time so I think I’ll try a post today. Either way, I’m gonna try to put my thoughts together on The Rook chapter 2 today and see where Daniel O’Malley takes us.

I’m also hoping to see more smashing from Trout as he continues to push the Angels towards the Wild Card race.
