Joining the NPC Guilds in Elder Scrolls [ESO]

One of the first things I have been doing with a new character when I get past the tutorial (I always go through the tutorial now to make sure I can get the extra weapons and loot) is to go and join the various NPC guilds. I am pretty sure that at this time, there are 3 NPC guilds – the Mage's Guild, the Fighter's Guild, and the Undaunted. Each of these guilds offer quests and skills, and can be joined by anyone in the game. I figure it is best to unlock these skill trees early in case there are abilities I want to start leveling up.

For the Aldmeri Dominion, these guilds are easily joined in the starting city of Vulkhel Guard.

In the future, the developers have mentioned that the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood will be added to the game to bring the total NPC guild count to 5.

Once I get indoctrinated into these guilds, I head to Khenarthi's Roost to start exploring and leveling up. On my first character, I jumped right into the quests at Vulkhel Guard, but I was in over my head. Once the combat started, I was in trouble and died a few too many times. Taking on level 5 enemies with an underskilled level 4 Templar healer was not the way to go. So to make things a more even playing field, I make sure to head over to the starter island of Khenarthi's Roost.
