Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) vs Albus Nox Luna (ANX)

CLG took the win in the first game of the 2016 Worlds and they were looking to keep things rolling against an ANX who dropped their first game. ANX was looking to turn around their fortunes thought and quickly got on the board when Likkrit took down Huhi for first blood. CLG quickly followed up, though, with kills 2, 3, and 4, with Stixxay pulling down 2 of them. At 25 minutes, CLG looked like they were on their way to victory, going up 9 kills to 6, but that wasn’t to be as ANX snagged the first baron without CLG even trying to contest.. ANX then looked to be dominating – taking out 3 turrets with the baron buff and another shortly after it faded. But once again, CLG came back and moved to 12 kills vs 6 before taking an inhibitor and then all hell broke lose – ANX scrambled and took out all but Poppy and drew the kills to 11 vs 15 and then they caught CLG trying to grab a quick baron. Huhi went down, Darshan went down, aphromoo went down, and once again ANX grabbed baron. And that was pretty much the game – Albus Nox Luna went on to victory with a 18–16 kill line and I’d have to give the MVP to Likkrit’s Tahm Kench who was all over the place and just where they needed him every time.

Team Solo Mid (TSM) vs Splyce (SPY)

After losing their first game to RNG and then getting a win in the second, TSM was looking to stay hot against SPY but they started a bit behind. A second behind actually as Mikyx’ Nami took down Biofrost’s Karma a second before Hauntzer’s Rumble took out Wunder’s Kennen – SPY got first blood. By 15 minutes, SPY was up 5 kills to 3 and by 29 it was 11–6, they seemed to be dominating. But then they tried to get baron…Trashy took it but they ended up with 3 dead on each side. At this point, Sencux was on fire with 8 kills to 1 death and it looked like he would lead the 14–9 SPY on to victory, but Nami and Kennen kept getting taken down by TSM. You should never count TSM out, though. Bjergsen then stepped up and seemed to decide it was his turn to show what a mid laner could do – he ended up 7/4, but he got 4 of his kills between minutes 30 and 35 turning the game around for TSM. He carried TSM to take down 3 SPYs at midlane and then baron at 37 minutes and TSM was now in charge and they never looked back. They got their second win.
