Six Degrees of 2017: Bubbles of Mischief

This is an installment of my Six Degrees 2017 series in which I take a look at the wonderful blogs that surround Beyond Tannhauser Gate. The blogosphere is large but there are so many friends to be found within Six Degrees.

Bubbles of Mischief

In my last Six Degrees post about Kamalia et alia, I mentioned that Bubbles is a 4th degree site…now that I look at things though, it’s actually in my 3rd degree since Feckless Leader also has Bubbles on his blogroll. None of this matters since I’m here and enjoying Cymre’s posts and videos about pets, the upcoming Warcraft 7.2 patch, and an award that is bouncing around the blogosphere.

I’ll start off by saying I didn’t know there were or were going to be such things as Pet Dungeons, but Cymre discusses the first one being included in patch 7.2 in her post Pet Battle Dungeon. Serr’ah over in Dalaran offers the quest and it takes place in the Wailing Caverns in the Barrens. From Cymre’s account, there are 7 stages to this dungeon culminating in a battle against a legendary elemental Budding Everliving Spore. It sounds cool and I’ve always liked how WoW made pets into Pokémon, even though I’ve only got a few low level pets myself.

In her ongoing quest for Warcraft information, Cymre took a trip over to the PTR to see what the deal was with class mounts in her latest video in the post – Most Recent Upload. Once there, she heads to Azsuna to board a submarine and ends up in the Lost Observatory…underwater. Cutscenes, voiced dialog, and a few fights later and she receives a set of mounts. They actually change appearance based on whichever spec she’s in and they look pretty cool – you gotta check them out. And not only are the mounts nice, the production quality of the video is clearly visible – Cymre certainly knows what she’s doing. Now that I’ve seen what the Priest class gets, I’m looking forward to seeing what Druids get.

In Pet Additions, Cymre continues her journey through Patch 7.2 on the PTR with a focus on the pets coming in the patch. She even posts a video of a run through the new pet dungeon in Wailing Caverns. As she pointed out in the Pet Battle Dungeon post above, there’s a lot of new fun to be had running a solo dungeon with your pets. And of course there are new pets to be tamed. The video shows her completing all 7 steps in the dungeon so it works as kinda a guide for when the patch releases. I like these kinds of videos highlighting upcoming content – particularly when they’re well done. I’d have to say, though, that my favorite part is when she jumps off the cliff expecting to use a kite to slow her descent but forgets how to activate it.

Patch 7.2 is a pretty big deal in Warcraft and showing off the future content from the PTR is a neat way to stay on top of things. In Broken Shore: Illidari Masters, Cymre looks at the new pet tamers that become available once you get past the Broken Shore scenario. They each have some pretty cool pets and I like the screenshots and descriptions of each of the new Illidari Masters.

Finally, Bubbles of Mischief received the Real Neat Blog Award and she discusses it in her post – An Award? For Me?. This is something that’s been going around the blogoshpere and I’ve actually seen it on other blogs within my Six Degrees. Basically, 7 questions are posed by the site that nominates you and you provide answers to those questions and post 7 new questions for 7 other bloggers – its a pretty neat way to find out more about the blogs you read. Questions asked of Cymre ranged from what she’d consider a perfect day to books to read, from super villain admiration to spirit animal affiliation – quite a wide range of topics but it’s good to see she likes Grodd from the Flash…I’m pretty sure they visit Grodd’s homeworld in an upcoming episode.

Fortunately, with the award given to Bubbles of Mischief and Cymre’s followup to provide 7 bloggers to nominate for furtherance of the award, I have a list of blogs to include in my Six Degrees series. Hopefully, this’ll be the start of a blogroll for the site, but at least it’s something I can follow to the next destination. Since I found that Bubbles was a 3rd degree site, I think the next stop will be my actual 1st visit to a 4th degree site this year, and that site is…Rokk Talk. See you there.

  1. Oh, thanks so much for the feature. Glad to see you discovered a few new things and have to correct you by saying the kite was disabled in the scenario. I suspected it would be but felt I should at least try. Hehe.
