31 Days of Comic-Con: First Day on the Floor

Day 19

The first day of Comic-Con is usually not quite as crazy as the following 4 since it’s only open from 6-9, but it still packs a whalop. After picking up my Preview Night badge, I made my annual pilgrimage over to the Tick booth to pick up my new shirt.

Then it was upstairs to get my overview shots.  It really puts things into perspective whenever I go to the mezzanine to see all the people that show up even on Preview Night.

But then back on the floor, I think I got a sense of some of the focus of the convention this year and it seems things are broadening out a bit from the past few years.  Sure, movies are represented quite a bit but there are a bunch of television properties that seem to be making a splash and they’re not always the big names like Game of Thrones and Westworld…though they were both there in force.

But then there was also People Of Earth – which is a show I can’t wait to return.  It was so clever and fun but obviously lesser know than Westworld or GoT.

On the whole, it was a good Preview Night.  I even got to see some of the D&D stuff pictured above.
