Ohtani’s Spring Debut

Daily Ramble 164: Ohtani’s Spring Debut

Just a little post today as I need to get back into the habit of watching baseball and incorporating it into everything else I do on the weekend.

In any case, today was the first appearance of Shohei Ohtani as an Angel in Spring Training. While he didn’t swing a bat, he did face 7 Brewers and notched 2 strike outs. While it’s still real early in the Spring, he also gave up a home run to Keon Broxton and 2 total runs…not the best first impression but he’s just getting warmed up. The Angels did end up winning the game with a walk off single by Zack Gibbons but as I mentioned yesterday, the offense seems to be much more ready to go than the pitching.

Along with the win and the debut of Ohtani, Vladimir Guerrero threw out the first pitch for the home opener at Tempe Diablo Stadium so it was a good day to be an Angel fan.
