Issue 4
The stage has been set in previous issues and King Arthur has risen. In order to regain his rightful place, he created a Galahad and sent him on the quest for the Holy Grail. It’s up to Gran, Duncan, and Rose to get to the Fisher King before the King’s Knight can crossover to the Otherworld in his quest.

Meanwhile a couple of police officers think they can interfere in the supernatural and neither survives the incident and things take an interesting turn when we learn that Gran used to be married to this Fisher King. History and family politics collide as Duncan seems to be taking a more prominent role now that he’s got two women to protect. But he soon learns an interesting secret…one that Gran has been keeping from him his entire life.

I’m loving the twist on the Arthurian legends and how they’re being brought into today’s world. I’ve seen plenty of monster hunters chasing ghosts and vampires but for them to be going toe-to-toe with Knights of the Round Table, this is pretty cool.

Kieron Gillen is masterfully portioning out the clues for what’s going on and adding in new characters as needed in an expert manner and I am really enjoying Dan Mora’s beautiful presentations. Four issues in and I’m hooked for the long haul. This series is good.
