Back on the Wagon

This usually happens during Blaugust…I typically get to a point where I start to run outta steam, but I try to keep up my daily posts. I guess since I try to cover not only gaming but also comics, I have a few standard posts that allow me to kinda take a break.

Posting about the Marvel and DC subscription services new releases gives me a little reprieve since I don’t have to be too creative with those posts. I’m gonna try to get back into regular rambles again now that I’ve taken a couple of days to catch my breath.

We’ll see how it goes.

Silent Strike is Awesome!

I’m still making slow progress in Horizon Zero Dawn. I’ve decided to take my time and make sure to level up through side quests, so I made it to level 7 today. I’m also feeling pretty good taking on the Striders, Watchers, and even the Scrappers.

I have to say that one of the best skills I’ve learned has been Silent Strike. This lets you basically kill anything I’ve run into so far with a single attack. Basically, I hide out in the red grass that offers concealment, and when a Strider or Watcher comes by, the icon shows up on my screen and BAM! I easily take down the machine and grab the good loot.

Not too bad.

Anyway, I am still running through the content I saw back on the PS4 and will be for a while, but I’m enjoying the nostalgia.

Expanding my Weapon Options

Today in Destiny, I decided I wanted to try to focus on Nessus missions. I’ve advanced to 965 in power, but I know I’ve got a long way to go with gathering the weapons I want for ‘endgame.’

Soon, I’m gonna have to focus on trying to get the weapons and armor I need to run some of the current content. From what I can tell, there are certain guns that are in the meta and are used by most people. As things go, I have started to branch out from my standard Scout Rifle/Sniper Rifle loadout.

Actually, I’ve been forced to use some new weapon types based on some of the missions I’ve been running. That’s given me some appreciation for SMGs and Auto Rifles and the fact that sometimes it’s better just to spray and pray rather than fire single shots like my Scout Rifle.

Also, some of the more recent missions I’ve been running have overwhelming numbers of Thralls or trash mobs that are easy to kill but are designed to swarm you. An SMG or Auto Rifle works really well in these situations, and I’m starting to work with them.

Promptapalooza Prompt Day 13

Today is also day 13 of Blaugust, or rather it is the thirteenth day that we are posting a prompt for Promptapalooza. I kinda fell off the past few days, but I’m getting back on the wagon. In any case, this year, Belghast over at Tales of the Aggronaut has suggested a different format…we’re gonna be posting writing prompts each day to get things rolling and to see the different perspectives on various topics in gaming, pop-culture, media, and fandoms.

The prompt for today (which I’ll tackle tomorrow) from Heather over at Just Geeking By is:

What are some of the things that get you excited in life?

I’m hoping to put on my thinking cap tonight as I sleep to figure out what to say.

It’s a Wrap

So while I’ve taken a few days off from Promptapaloozaing and Rambling, I have kept up with my gaming. Right now, Horizon and Destiny are my go-to games, but I’m itching to get past the first boss in Nioh…maybe I’ll give that a go tomorrow.
