Blaugust 2026 Kicks Off
It’s that time of year again and I am making another run at Blaugust. Maybe 2026 will be the year I get back into regular posting, maybe not, but at least I am giving it the ole’ college try.
Anyone looking to get in on the action should head over to the Blaugust 2026 Official Announcement page and then on to the Blaugust 2026 Signup page.
Actually, now that I see the signup page, I realize I am posting this without having signed up yet myself. I better get to that!

Anyway, as with last year’s Blaugust, I find myself quite far from where I was at when I started Beyond Tannhauser Gate. I don’t have the time to game like I used to and I have even put less time into reading this past year. For my other interests and hobbies, of course, no one wants to hear me babble about how horrible my favorite baseball team – The Angels – are doing this year, although keeping a running commentary on how close they get to a 100 loss season may actually be a bit interesting.
I suppose I have kept up with a few TV shows and I did attend San Diego Comic-Con this year so there are some things I can pull ideas from.
And I understand that AI is still a hot topic and I agree with my fellow Blaustonians that having AI write posts for you is pretty obscene – I mean, why would you even go out of the way to have a blog these days if all you’re going to do is have a machine write up slop for you. My perspective continues to be that AI is a nice tool, like a hammer or a drill – I’m not going to ask either of them to build me a house – I’m still going to be the architect and the builder, the guiding hand that uses a tool for what it was intended for, not for taking over for my creativity. I ask AI to do tool things and I take their responses and I do my human things. I can’t see how people would want anything other than that. But I’m sure I’ll have more to say on that topic during the month.
Anyway, Happy Blaugust 2026!!!
And yes, I did just find out about Belghast and I am saddened. He will be missed greatly.
