Blaugust 2026 Post Number 2

I’m not really sure how this is going to look on my site since I just updated a bunch of plugins, my theme, and actually even wordpress to their latest versions. This took a while so I ran out of the time I had set aside for ‘being creative’ today, and I still have not gotten my theme built back up the way I want it. I forgot how much of a pain this could be.

Along with fighting with my theme and layout today…and losing, I actually got a chance to go for a run for the first time in 2 weeks. With Comic-Con and way too much going on in my life, I haven’t had the opportunity to work on my fitness in a while and a little run was well deserved and enjoyable. After running 90 miles in May and 73 in June, I only managed 8.9 miles in July. Fitness is important and along with my jumping into Blaugust in August, I’m gonna work to get back into my fitness routine.

Also as part of my Blaugust goals, I jumped back into reading. Last year for the few days I participated in Blaugust 2025, I worked on planning out a series of books to read. Well, not only did I not get far posting in August last year or any time since, I did not do much reading. So actually, I have the same goals and even the same books to read this Blaugust. Maybe now that I’ve seen Project Hail Mary a couple of times, I will actually get around to reading the book.

Anyway, with Blaugust here, I have some lofty goals that go along with writing. I’ll get into them over the next few weeks, but I am glad to have more motivation to put fingers to the keyboard and get writing again. Blaugust is always a busy time but it is fun and I enjoy the push to be creative, the drive to play a few games, and the encouragement to read again.

I did sign up but I missed the latest roll call. I’m glad to see so many participants.
