Crazy Family Adventure, Warships, and Congrats to U.S. Women’s Soccer

Big Crazy Family Adventure

This show has moved well up on my ratings list and is a must watch the day it airs. This show is very touching, very emotional, and very entertaining. The family interactions along with the beautiful scenery and wonderful people they meet are really remarkable. I certainly wish I could go on this crazy adventure but the way they portray the family and the people they meet and the places they go is certainly enjoyable to watch. There aren't many shows on television these days that show a loving and caring family, but this one certainly fills that niche. When the most talked about shows focus on death, destruction, crime, punishment, and how awful people can be to each other, when the news is filed with stories about horrible things, and when politics has been reduced to finger pointing, this show stands out as a beacon of hope that there IS good in the world; That people can communicate even if they don't speak the same language; That even in 2015, families can love one another and share wonderful experiences; And that regardless of race, religion, age, or beliefs, people can choose to get along with each other in the real world.

World of Warships

I fired up World of Warships for the first time and was pleasantly impressed with the game. If you're familiar with the other 'world 'of games (tanks and warplanes, not Warcraft) you will be right at home. The controls are similar, the maps are conceptually similar, and the progression system is pretty much the same for all three games. You just control a big hulking ship in this game as opposed to a tank or plane. Like the other 2 games, I had fun and I like the shortness of the matches. Now I know if I want a short 5-10 minute interlude, I can play Warships, Tanks, or Warplanes; if I want a 10-20 minute game I have Heroes of the Storm; 25-60 minutes I can play LoL; and if I want longer I can choose among the various MMOs and such. The cool thing I find with these 'world of' games is the simplicity in learning the basics followed by the complexity that can be found when you dig into the games.

I won my first match, I got blown out of the water, but my team won and though it was against bots, I am looking down the road to when I can fire a salvo or two at real players or launch fighter planes to assault player controller ships. It a fun game that can be an entertaining diversion when you need a quick fix.

U.S. Wins World Cup

Congratulations to the United States women's World Cup soccer team! They really played a hell of a game and deserved that win. Although Hope Solo gave up two goals which doubled the total she gave up for the entire World Cup to that point, the team did really well. The first 17 minutes basically sealed the game and watching Carli Lloyd dominate and get a hat trick was pretty impressive. The Japanese team were pretty good as well and they never gave up – pushing until the last minute of the game. While I don't watch much soccer, the game was definitely enjoyable and who said anything about low or no scoring. There was plenty of scoring in the game and it was very exciting.
