Made it through Day One

Comic-Con 2015 Day One

As with most plans of attack, my encounter with the first day of comic con ended with my plan in tatters. Of course there's never enough time to see everything I want to see but I also ran into vehicle traffic, trouble finding parking, lines, and just being lazy and sitting in one room longer than I probably should have.

Regardless I had a great time!

I saw three primary panels:

  1. Blizzard Entertainment Showcase
  2. NASA Turning Science Fiction into Science Fact
  3. Drunk History

I enjoyed all three and while I did not make it into the Sherlock panel I did wait in line for about 45 minutes. I decided it was better to go to a sure thing in the NASA panel rather than continue to wait in line to attend Sherlock which was non a certainty.

I stayed away from Hall H because I didn't want to deal with the large crowds. Also other than Sherlock, I did not attempt to get into ballroom 20 – the second largest venue. I ended up spending most of my time in room 6BCF which is where Blizzard and NASA were.

Along with the panels, I did get to my usual New England Comics especially to see The Tick and get my annual T-shirt. The exhibit hall was pretty crowded as usual but I was able to navigate through the crowds pretty easily. Looks like there's going to be a lot of neat things to stop and take a look at.

With dayone in the books, I look forward today two. So far the con has been a lot of fun.

World of Warships

I'm still working out the kinks on how to survive in my Erie cruiser. I've gotten a few kills of opposing cruisers and such but I keep taking so much damage, my ship sinks. I've got to figure out how to continue to do damage to the enemy ships while avoiding and evading the damage that is coming at me. At least in my most recent match I did not get destroyed by a bunch of torpedoes. Torpedoes at least for me have been a death sentence – I haven't figured out how to avoid them.
